The Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars boys’ basketball team had a tough schedule last week: they played the first and second place teams in the Great River Conference in East Central and Pine City. Unfortunately, the Jaguars lost both games.

The East Central Eagles (11-1) had two games this past week and won both of them, keeping their winning streak alive. On Monday, February 22, they defeated Barnum and on Friday, February 26, they had a big win over Hinckley-Finlayson to culminate Snow Week.
On Monday, February 22, the Hinckley-Finlayson Lady Jaguars hosted non-conference opponent Moose Lake/Willow River. The Rebels have a pair of high scoring guards and play in a very tough conference up north. The Jags played a great first half of basketball despite trailing 34-28.
The Pine City High School boys basketball squad had another see-saw week, beating Hinckley-Finlayson in an overtime game before losing a tight contest with Rush City.
The boys varsity hockey team has picked up momentum as the season has gone on, and after starting the season with four straight losses, the Dragons have gone 7-2 in their last nine games, notching victories, passing milestones, and blazing their way to a statement comeback win over St. Francis.
