Michael Miller of Mission, Texas and previously of Pine City, passed away Monday Oct. 5, 2020 at the hospital in Corpus Christi at the age of 79.
Michael was born Sept. 7, 1941 to Christian and Violet Miller in Pine City. In the early years he met Phyllis Herrud and they were married until 1998 when she passed away suddenly. They raised three children and had multiple foster kids in Pine City. Michael hauled fuel for Gehl oil and later was a post man in Pine City.
After he retired, he met Clara Lawhorn and they were married for the last 14 years. They enjoyed traveling and spending time in the summer in Minnesota at the cabin. Michael loved spending time there with his family and friends. He loved his music playing and sitting in the sunshine, fishing on Big Sandy lake and spending his winters in Texas. He was always there to help anyone and will be missed by many.
Michael is survived by his wife Clara of Mission, Texas, son Scott (Kelly) Miller of Pine City, Daughter Bethany (Tim Finch) of Mission Texas, Daughter Brenda (Tom) Engh of Pine City. Jerry Lawhorn of Modesto, California, Jake (Becky) Lawhorn of Sacramento, California, Lisa Lawhorn of Hayward, California. Grandchildren Christian (Kally) Miller, Eric (Kathy) Witke, Dylan (Jasmine) Ploub, Beth (Jake) Remine, Brianna and Michael Engh, John Lawhorn, Jessi Lawhorn, Justice Lawhorn, Jeno Lawhorn, Jakey Lawhorn, Leo Lawhorn, Lilyana Hernandez, and Khalia Hernandez. Brother Jerome (Delphine) Miller, Sisters Myrna Williamson, Linda (Pete) Weismann, Debbie (Ed) Rezendes. Many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Christian and Violet Miller, wife Phyllis, grandson Brett, brother David and other family members.
A grave side service and celebration of life will be held tentatively in June 2021 at Hustletown church and at the farm in Pine City.
