Mitchel Dupre

Mitchel Dupre passed away on Sept. 6, 2021.

Mitch was born on June 14, 1932, to parents Wilfred & Erna Dupre. He grew up in Hugo/St Paul and went to Cretin Durham Hall. After graduation, Mitch went into the army and fought in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in November of 1954 and is a Purple Heart recipient. Mitch was married to Barbara (Bergstrom) who preceded him in death on April 4, 2018.

When he returned from the service, he started a career as a radio announcer at WCMP in Pine City.  They moved to Duluth where Mitch worked at KDLH TV and Barbara at Wells Fargo. Mitch and Barb were inseparable — you would never see one without the other. They truly had a fantastic marriage. They also had many friends. Mitch had a great sense of humor, a kind heart and a love for animals. Upon retirement, they moved back to Pine City to be close to family and friends. They always greeted you with a smile and Mitch always had a joke to tell.

There will be a private funeral; we thank you for your prayers. Memorials preferred to Wounded Warrior Project. Condolences at www.carlsonlillemoen.com. Arrangements by the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Cambridge.
